Locally Sourced Goodness

One of the qualities of Asheville that so clearly captured our hearts is the abundant availability of local, organic produce; humanely-raised meats; and creative, artisan foods.  The multitude of farmer's and tailgate markets and restaurants that locally source their ingredients is totally inspiring.  It is so easy to eat well here, and we value eating well as vitally important to the quality of our life. So it was fortuitous that the Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project (ASAP) Family Farm ...Read more

Testimonials

"As a trained dancer and teacher of dance, I am enchanted with Nia as a form of movement, self-expression, artistry, creativity, and intellectual and emotional stimulation.  Jenny's classes make exploration of your body, the space around you, and the accompanying music an open invitation to create.  So you just might miss that you are getting a great workout and finding how beautifully you can DANCE, no matter who you are and not matter your past experiences."

Nourish & Flourish is the result of a dream, an inspiration birthing its way into form.  It is a living form that made itself known to us and its desire to take shape in the ‘real’ world about five years ago.  We would be on one of many trips hiking, camping, backpacking, or soaking in natural hot springs in the great Pacific Northwest and our attention and conversations would frequently return to the same topic – “Jenny & Brian’s Grand Adventure.”  The Grand Adventure became code for us of a plan that was seeping into our awareness almost like a dream state slowly blending into waking – like “Is this really happening…or was that in our dreams”.  After awhile, it became just as real to us as the life we were living in Seattle and eventually we realized that our life WAS “The Grand Adventure.”  The plan went like this: Our time in Seattle was coming to a close and our practice that we had created – Center of the Universe Network Care – would be passed on to someone else.  Further to that, we would take some time off and travel the country in some kind of Grand Adventure Mobile, and KNOW when and where it was that we would once again put down some roots.

“There is nothing more powerful than an idea whose time has come.”
-Victor Hugo

Having spent our 30′s in Seattle, we longed to be in a smaller community, close to nature, raise a family AND create our next dream – Nourish & Flourish.  The beauty of the practice of delivering Network Care is that we were privileged to witness thousands of people over the course of over a decade connect deeply with themselves such that they felt more alive, passionate, and certain of who they are and what they are here to be and do.  Not only that, but in our receiving Network Care, the same thing happened to us!!  We sold our practice to our associate, bought a ’88 VW Vanagon Westfalia and spent seven months on the road traveling through 4o states exploring and visiting friends and family.

As amazing as our trip was, there was a point when we both felt the energy and excitement for us to land and set our dream into motion, and the place that kept calling to us of all the places we visited was Asheville, NC.  We came back to pay a longer visit and were met by serendipity after serendipity as if the land itself was calling out to us.  The most friendly people, gorgeous natural beauty of the landscape, a vibrant conscious business community, natural hot springs less than an hour away – what’s not to love!  Asheville, we decided, was the birthplace of Nourish & Flourish and we knew it.  This is our home.
